Intro

The Big Easy are an energetic swing band from Leeds, consisting of vocals, trumpet, sax, guitar, piano, double bass and drums. Their repertoire is carefully chosen to give a lively and varied performance of the best swing from throughout the 20th century & a twist on songs from the modern era.

Big Easy

Formed in 2014, The Big Easy repertoire covers the early days of jazz, classic New Orleans tunes and lively jump jive. They usually consist of a 6 piece band but can offer 2, 3, 4 or 5 piece to suit any size event. The band play high-energy swing interspersed with moments of soulful-melancholy making them a great choice for concerts, weddings, clubs and dances.

Since it’s birth in the 1920s, swing has been music for celebration – music to dance to when you’re having a good time. With this in mind, the band have taken some of the greatest tunes by the giants of swing; Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Nina Simone & many more household names, adding their own interesting arrangements to bring you a set of only the finest swing tunes.
