The DB Blues are a powerful force in the world of blues and soul music, who together create a magical and memorable night of music for any special occasion, whether it be a wedding, birthday party or private event.
DAN B – KEYS AND VOCALS
Dan was spoon-fed blues, soul, funk, and rock music from an early age by his parents. His father, Laurie was a well respected guitarist who was in bands with ex David Bowie’s ‘Spiders from Mars’ Woody Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder, and played national support tours with acts such as Hot Chocolate. In his teens, Laurie’s passion for music was helped along with guitar tuition from his good friend, the legendary Mick Ronson.
DAN M – BASS GUITAR
Dan is the newest member of the band, but has been musically involved (and good friends) with DB for sixteen years or so, from when they began gigging together in the Rob Donnelly Band. The two have collaborated on other writing/performance projects since, and DB is thrilled to welcome DM to the band.
DM is an outstanding musician, composer, and engineer, and runs Active Audio Recording Studios in Harrogate. Some of his recent studio and live recordings have had airplay on both BBC Radio 1 & BBC Radio 2 (including ‘Happiest man alive’ from Dan B’s EP, which DB & DM co-produced), and there have also been many of his productions used on TV & Film.
ED – DRUMS
Ed has already built a solid reputation as one of the best drummers around, and is in very high demand! As well as providing the rock solid foundation for the band’s music, Ed also plays in Day Old Hate, who have already gained a substantial following, and have acquired international sponsorship.
Dan and the boys often invite special guests to join them at gigs. Previous guests include: Malford (vocals), Lucy (vocals), Emma (vocals), Colin (saxophone), Rob (guitar/vocals), Mark (guitar/vocals), Paul (guitar), Nick (guitar), Frank (bass), Paul (bass), Alasdair (bass).
